Our Founder, Linda V. Fuentes ignited the organization the first year by recruiting 26 founding mothers. Our 27 Founding Mothers realized that the campus did not offer an organization that met the needs of women from minority backgrounds. They were interested in forming an organization that would not only act as a family away from home, but that would also bring together women from various backgrounds and incorporate the principles of self improvement, scholastic excellence, civic responsibility and leadership. Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. became a reality on October 24, 1986, when twenty-seven women sharing the same interest, beliefs and goals came together.
