Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated was founded at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California on October 24, 1986. Our Founder, Linda V. Fuentes established our organization the first year by recruiting 26 additional women attending Sacramento State University. During this time, our 27 Founding Mothers bonded over the reality of the equity gap on campus for women of color and from minority backgrounds. They came together as women with various backgrounds and incorporated the principles of self improvement, scholastic excellence, civic responsibility, and leadership.
Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated is an academic, social, and multicultural sorority. We are a solid network of women in higher education, who have chosen to unite in order to enhance our college and experience. We provide our members a family away from home and strong support system to facilitate the retention of motivated students. Through the support its’ members offer each other, Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. has developed a strong, safe and loving environment where friendships grow, characters build, knowledge is shared, and a multicultural sisterhood is created.
